What projects does It’s Easy Being Green work on?
Sharon Waskow
Sharon Waskow has over 30 years experience as an educator of elementary, secondary and adult learners. She holds a B.A. in English, an M.S. in Reading and an MLS in school librarianship. She volunteers for her block association and leads a history book group for Bloomingdale Aging in Place. She has taught teachers how to create project based curriculum on climate and spearheaded a school and community wide effort to call attention to the environmental threats to coral reefs. Together, students, teachers, staff and community members crocheted a large model of a coral reef showing various stages of decay. The exhibit, housed in a glass vitrine, served as a teaching tool for many years. She currently co-leads It’s Easy Being Green, a neighborhood climate education and personal action group on the Upper Westside of Manhattan. You can reach her at itseasybeinggreen.uws@gmail.com
